International fashion designer Donna Karan has taken a little piece of WA with her back to the states. She collected a one of a kind Sophie Kyron Jewellery neckpiece on her recent trip to Perth. Incorporating turquoise, hand crochet lurex and collected vintage elements including a “protective hand” and a little crown for the “Queen of Fashion”, this piece was hand crafted by Sophie to reflect the amazing clarity of our Western Australian sky and light. Donna absolutely loves the piece and is another fashionable fan of Sophie Kyron Jewellery!

Sophie Kyron was delighted to create an incredible couture neckpiece for Melbourne bride, Kate. The piece was carefully crafted over 6 months and the result was absolutely divine. A hand-beaded purse was also made to compliment the look. This projects fulfils our philosophy that “Today’s treasures, (become) tomorrow’s heirlooms”.
Sophie Kyron is available for consultations by appointment.
Sophie was honoured to be a presenter at the recent Design Institute of Australia Forum held at the University of WA in Perth last weekend. A most diverse range of international and national guest speakers inspired the enthusiastic audience:
Narcissus Quagliata (Glass Design, Mexico), Alexander Lotersztain (Interior Product Design, Brisbane), John Brown (Industrial Product Design, Sydney), Elly Nelly (Textile Designs, Cairns and New York), Jan Utzon (Architecture, Denmark) and Sophie Kyron (Jewellery Design, Perth).
It was fabulous to spend time and network with other creatives and to see the amazing achievements and products of these luminaries. In the process we had fun re-visiting our archives to show examples of past works. Here are some gems we uncovered….

The Sophie Kyron team were delighted to attend the Beyond Garment launch night. A short parade of fabulous pieces on a group of models kept the audience intrigued until all were invited to the exhibition space to be astounded and inspired.
A seminar held on the following Saturday had a select crowd. Industry speakers informed all on the topic of art and fashion. As an invited guest of the discussion panel, Sophie Kyron and other designers were able to answer queries and share insights on their experiences and processes in design and development.
The Beyond Garment exhibition is on at the Western Australian Martime Musem until 28th November and is a free event.
